Shouldn't we be worried that Halloween has become... →
I’m not trying to be Debbie Downer, and normally, if grown women want to run around as a slutty angel or a slutty cowgirl, I don’t care. But when it’s marketed towards young, impressionable girls that I’m related to – I care. Growing up and even into high school, girls wanted fun, clever costumes. I remember a girl in middle school was a rubix cube for Halloween, and I thought it was the coolest...
Can scary and romantic go together? I think so. →
The lights were dimmed. I snuggled close to my beloved and he put his arm around me. Delicious food was waiting in front of me. A romantic date? A candlelit dinner, perhaps?
Nope. A Sunday afternoon showing of Paranormal Activity 3.

I'm Baaacck Tumblr
So Tumblr was my fix for blogging for about a year. Then I got ALL into blogging and started one to promote a book idea I want to publish. So I totally ditched tumblr, but now I’m feeling that’s unnecessary. It’s called multi-tasking Claudia. And I’ll just be joining the two! No one needed this explanation, but I gave it anyway.

Red Velvet is the new Black →
I’ve loved me some red velvet cake since I was a kid, but then I was raised in the South so what’s new. It was my step-dad’s favorite cake and every August 19th for his birthday his mom (Memaw - as we grandkids called her) made a delicious red velvet cake. Slowly red velvet cupcakes have taken over, then Yogurtland began offering red velvet cupcake batter yogurt (it’s...

Good Hookers vs. Bad Hookers
In a fight for which movie to watch on a sea of channels last night I stumbled upon two films that portray hookers. Pretty Woman and American Psycho. And I realized something a little shocking about myself. Apparently I can watch a lovable hooker, but not the straight up getting screwed kind.
Pretty Woman is the classic 1990 romantic comedy - a cold executive, a hooker with a heart of gold....

Is Rumer Willis the new Tori Spelling?
Sadly, I’ve given this some thought. Mostly because the words Tori Spelling and best-selling author in the same sentence are more painful to me that a knife in the gut. Growing up, I was fairly annoyed with Donna Martin, all things 90210, the nepotism, and what I saw as general lameness. But I’m realizing that the “Curse of Tori Spelling” is really the case of a famous...

Hugh Hefner - a voice of reason? Say what?
While celebrating his 84th birthday, Hugh Hefner spoke out against the sexual craziness of Jesse James and Tiger Woods, saying “the real immorality of infidelity is the lying.” Of course, asking a man who lives with a endless supply of women who look like barbies and could easily be his granddaughters or even great-granddaughters, seems suspect to begin with. But it’s kind of...
